As the technological war continues between the United States and China, Republican U.S. Sen. Rick Scott wants guardrails on tech from the latter country he sees as dangerous.

The Blocking CCP Spy Tech Act of 2026 would compel national security officials to scrutinize the products of the so-called “Six Little Dragons.”

Scott’s Office says the companies are at “the forefront of Communist China’s push into AI, robotics, and digital industries.”

That category includes the following: DeepSeek, the large language model that some see as an existential threat to American innovation in the space; Game Science, which puts out video games; Unitree Robotics and Deep Robotics; BrainCo, which specializes in neurotechnology; and Manycore Tech, which focuses on spatial design.

“Communist China is not our friend. They have chosen to be our enemies and want to destroy us. That’s why it’s imperative that we ensure that any company or entity connected with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) and CCP are not given unfettered access to the U.S. economy,” Scott said.

To preempt potential dangers, Scott’s bill would compel these companies to be put on the Federal Communications Commission’s “Covered List” if it’s determined they do pose dangers.

In addition to national security, the proposal keeps economic nationalism in mind.

“By prohibiting Communist Chinese companies from accessing American markets, U.S. manufacturing will get a fairer playing field to create family-sustaining jobs. We can’t let China steal from us without accountability, and this bill makes sure China can’t keep taking advantage of hardworking Americans.”
