Domestic gold prices continue downward trend

The prices down VND4 million ($152) per tael on both the buying and selling sides.

Gold prices in Vietnam extended their downward trend,
falling by VND4 million ($152) per tael on both the buying and selling sides on
March 23.

One tael equals 37.5 grams, or about 1.2 ounces.

The buying price of SJC-branded gold bars dropped to VND164
million ($6,235) per tael, while the selling price declined to VND167 million ($6,349)
per tael.

This represents a decrease of more than VND19 million ($722)
per tael compared to the same period last week.

Globally, gold prices fell by over 2.6% to $4,369.5 per
ounce. Despite the decline, domestic prices remain about VND26.8 million ($1,019)
per tael higher than international levels.
