Hanoi is determined to achieve gross regional domestic
product (GRDP) growth of more than 11% in 2026, according to Mr. Nguyen Duy
Ngoc, Politburo member and Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee.

He made the statement while addressing a conference held on
December 29 to review the city’s socio-economic development in 2025 and outline
tasks for 2026.

To meet the target, Hanoi has identified science and
technology, innovation, and digital transformation as key breakthrough areas,
while accelerating the development of strategic infrastructure, particularly
urban transport, including railway systems.

The city plans to complete more than 100 kilometres of urban
railways, expand its metro network, develop a green public transport system,
and continue implementing major infrastructure projects.

In 2025, Hanoi fulfilled all 24 socio-economic targets, with
many exceeding initial plans, and  GRDP growing  by 8.16%.
