The visit coincided with the
announcement of the upgrade of relations between Vietnam and the UK to a
Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, opening up numerous opportunities for
extensive cooperation in finance, investment, and technology.

Speaking at a meeting with representatives of the Lodon Stock Exchange (LSE), Dr.
Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao – Permanent Vice Chairwoman of HDBank Board of
Directors, President of Vietjet, stated that Vietnam aims for GDP growth of
over 10 per cent annually after 2026, necessitating significant long-term
capital mobilization.

“We hope to expand
cooperation with the London capital market through flexible forms such as dual
listing, international bond issuance, or other financial instruments to meet
the sustainable growth needs of Vietnamese enterprises,” she added.

LSE currently lists over 1,600 international companies and is a leading global bond
issuance center with a market size of approximately $34 trillion. Two major
Vietnamese investment funds, VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund (VOF) and
Vietnam Enterprise Investments Limited (VEIL), are also listed here.

Dr. Thao shared plans to expand
listings to include more companies within their ecosystem, covering consumer
finance, securities, aircraft finance, and logistics. With a return on equity
(ROE) of 20 – 25 per cent, she believes that if Vietnamese enterprises can
securitize and list internationally, they will attract significant global
capital flows and contribute to the vibrancy of the London financial market.
“We wish to contribute to showcasing a dynamic, integrated, and robustly
developing Vietnam to the world,” she said.

In addition, HDBank and LSE also
discussed establishing a cooperation mechanism in international capital
mobilization and advisory. Initial discussions indicate that HDBank and LSE
will consider setting up a cooperation mechanism in international capital
mobilization and advisory for Vietnamese enterprises, including issuing
valuable papers, international bonds, and new investment products.
