South Florida-based EDGE Communications has hired two new staffers as it scales up operations ahead of this year’s Midterm.
The political firm just added Hope Butts as Campaign and Communications Coordinator in Orlando.
In Miami, Jacobo Quiroz joined the team as Campaign Coordinator and Aide to Senior Vice President Veronica Goddard.
The hires come as EDGE, led by founder and CEO Christian Ulvert — who was named a senior adviser to the David Jolly for Governor campaign this week — increases its influence in the Sunshine State.
“EDGE continues to expand its footprint across Florida because our clients trust us to deliver smart strategy, strong campaigns, and meaningful results,” Ulvert said in a statement.
“Hope and Jacobo each bring talent, drive, and a deep commitment to public service that will strengthen our team.”
Butts, a Daytona Beach native, holds degrees in communications and political science from Florida International University and the University of Central Florida. She views the current moment as “defining for our state’s future.”
“Central Florida is home, and I care deeply about the future of our communities,” she said in a statement. “I’m excited to join EDGE to support campaigns and initiatives that bring people together, solve problems, and move Florida forward.”
Quiroz, a Miami native and the son of Colombian and Chilean immigrants, previously participated in EDGE’s WIN Fellowship program, where he served as Events Captain.
A graduate of Florida International University, where he earned a degree in political science with minors in international relations and religious studies, he has volunteered on campaigns and community initiatives across South Florida, including efforts supporting Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava.
“EDGE has already given me incredible opportunities to grow professionally and contribute to work that truly matters,” he said in a statement. “It means a lot to be part of a team that’s helping shape the future of the community that shaped me. I’m excited to continue supporting candidates and causes I believe in, and making a meaningful impact across South Florida.”
EDGE Communications is a bilingual consulting firm with a practice spanning campaign management, strategic communications, issue advocacy, crisis communications and corporate public affairs.
The firm’s client roster includes Levine Cava, Senate Democratic Leader-designate Shevrin Jones, State Attorneys Alexcia Cox and Katherine Fernandez Rundle, Miami Mayor Eileen Higgins and former Senate Democratic Leader Lauren Book, among others.
