A new poll shows Republican Byron Donalds dominating the Primary field for Governor as he continues to attract more previously undecided voters into the fold.
The sitting Congressman boasts 54% support among likely GOP Primary voters, according to a poll from Fabrizio, Lee & Associates. That’s a nine-percentage-point gain in polls from when the same firm polled the race in January.
Meanwhile, no other major candidate polls outside single digits. Investor James Fishback has climbed to 9%, Lt. Gov. Jay Collins comes in with 7% and former state House Speaker Paul Renner polls at just 2%, less than the survey’s 4.78% margin of error. Since January, that means a five-point gain for Fishback, a one-point gain for Collins and a one-point loss for Renner.
The growth in support for Donalds since January, gains that outpace the total support for any competitor, may be the most important data point.
“Undecideds have moved toward Byron Donalds at a greater rate than any other Republican candidate since January,” a polling memo reads. “Despite their constant lies and attacks, Fishback and Collins are not gaining any real traction, and Byron Donalds is clearly the overwhelming favorite to be the GOP nominee in this year’s election for Governor.”
The memo attributes much of Donalds’ growth in popularity to more Republicans knowing he enjoys President Donald Trump’s endorsement. Donalds has also been touring the state, laying out a policy agenda with his “Defending The Florida Dream” tour.
“Polling continues to confirm what we’ve seen from day one on the ground: Floridians are choosing Byron Donalds because he is the Trump-endorsed America First conservative who will lower costs, fight illegal immigration, and take the fight directly to the Radical Democrats in November,” said Ryan Smith, who chairs the Friends of Byron Donalds political committee.
Between the committee and Donalds’ official campaign, he raised more than $67 million, including $22 million in the three months of 2026. Fabrizio suggested that the edge on top of his existing majority support will make it “incredibly difficult for any challenger to catch up.”
