Republican Ryan Gill is now running for House District 68 with support from one of Florida’s most influential business lobbies.
Gill’s campaign this week announced an endorsement from Associated Industries of Florida (AIF), a powerful group that advocates for pro-business policies across the Sunshine State.
The organization’s President and CEO, Brewster Bevis, shared an effusive statement to accompany the nod.
“AIF is proud to endorse Ryan Gill, a sixth-generation Floridian, cattle rancher, and proven community leader who truly understands what it takes to run a business in Florida,” Bevis said.
“From managing a multi-generational family ranch to his leadership on local boards and conservation efforts, Ryan will bring real-world experience to the Legislature. He knows firsthand how smart policies — not burdensome regulations — help businesses grow, create jobs, and strengthen communities across our state.”
The AIF endorsement adds to others from Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, state Sen. Danny Burgess, state Rep. Lawrence McClure and Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister, the Florida Police Benevolent Association and Americans for Prosperity Action.
Gill said in a statement that he is honored to have AIF’s support.
“As someone whose family has worked the same land for over a century, I understand the importance of preserving opportunity for the next generation,” he said. “Our community was built on hard work, personal responsibility, and a strong local economy. In Tallahassee, I’ll fight to not only protect what we hold dear, but to also make Florida more affordable to ensure our state remains the best place in the country to live, work, and raise a family.”
Gill launched his campaign for HD 68 — which covers a portion of northeast Hillsborough County, including Plant City — about 13 months ago.
State records show he’s raised nearly $124,000 since between his campaign account and political committee, Conservatives for Florida Agriculture.
So far, his path to the General Election is unobstructed; no other Republican is running.
One Democrat, Hasani Idris Jackson, is also in the race. He filed on April 17, 2026, and won’t have to report campaign finance activity until June 10.
The winner on Nov. 3 will succeed McClure, who faces term limits.
HD 68 is heavily Republican, with 43% of voters registered as Republican compared to 27% Democratic, with the remaining 30% registered as third- and no-party voters, according to L2 voter data.
